Autodesk Network Installation Wizard Patch Readme

With the Autodesk Network Installation Wizard patch, you can use the Network Installation wizard to apply a service pack to an existing AutoCAD 2004-based product's administrative image.

NOTE: To use the Network Installation wizard to create a deployment that installs an AutoCAD 2004-based product with a service pack to a workstation, you must do the following:

Failure to apply this patch before you apply a service pack to an administrative image will result in a deployment that will not install an AutoCAD 2004-based product properly.

Instructions

To install and apply the Autodesk Network Installation wizard patch

Note: If you are using group policies to install an AutoCAD 2004-based product's service pack to computers running Windows 2000, you must apply the group policy solution (a2k4gpofix.exe) before you apply this patch. See Group Policy Product Support solution for instructions about applying the group policy solution.
  1. Locate the AdNiwCommonGroup.dll file in your Autodesk Network Installation wizard folder. For example:

    C:\Program Files\Autodesk Network Installation Wizard\

  2. Back up the original AdNiwCommonGroup.dll file by renaming the file AdNiwCommonGroup.dll_old.
  3. Double-click the Autodesk Network Installation Wizard patch (adskNIW2004fix.exe) file.
  4. When prompted for a location to save the patch, browse to the same location where you installed the Autodesk Network Installation wizard (the same location as in step 1).
  5. Click Save.
